Armen Martirosyan: Gagik Tsarukyan honestly said that PAP cannot be opposition
In general, our expectations did not come true as we expected different results at both parliamentary and Yerevan municipal elections, Armen Martirosyan, deputy chairman of Heritage party, Barev Yerevan bloc’s top candidate for Yerevan elections, told today’s news conference.
“As for presidential elections, on the contrary, I did not expect such a result. I don’t mean ballot stuffing, I mean that the real voters cast their ballot for Raffi Hovannisian,” he said.
According to Martirosyan, Armenia held three elections, but the people still do not have real power and the reforms the country needs have not been carried out.
“A situation was formed when the voters chose Prosperous Armenia as opposition. And Gagik Tsarukyan honestly said that PAP cannot be opposition. Unfortunately, he said this too late,” Martirosyan said.
The presidential elections showed the real opposition that fights the authorities, the Heritage member concluded.
