Serj Tankian: I’ll come again
“System of a Down” has no plans to reunite,” American-Armenian rock musician Serj Tankian told reporters in Yerevan today, after he was asked whether “System of a Down” could reunite even if it be just for a single concert in Armenia and whether they are planning unification with a world-famous rock star.
He said a concert in Armenia was a good idea, adding that: “We receive many suggestions and invitations to give united concerts, yet we have made no decisions on it, though, it wouldn’t be right to rule it out. What comes important here is that "we are good friends and once we make such a decision we will let the public know about it in our band website,” he said.
As regards Tankian’s solo career, evidently, he has quite a lot of performance with symphony orchestras of different countries.
As to whether he is not intent to do it with the Armenian orchestra, the singer said: “Hopefully, one day I will come here and have a concert with the symphony orchestra.”
Tankian will perform an exclusive concert in Yerevan tonight, to mark the launch of the Imperfect Harmonies tour through the release of a homonymous CD and this is why he can’t have a long stay in Armenia, despite his strong desire. And as he said: “I’ll come again.”
As to cooperation with Armenian musicians, he said he doesn’t know many here, only some rock bands. “I am not a lover of the same genre, I love good music,” S. Tankian said.
