Armenian cabinet meeting confirmed today Rafik Grigoryan as governor of Gegharkunik region.

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan congratulated the newly appointed governor.

“Grigoryan is also known for his parliamentary activities. We are confident that Mr. Grigoryan will be able to fully perform his duties as governor,” he said.

The office of Gegharkunik governor had been vacant following Prosperous Armenia Party’s decision to quit coalition government.

PAP member Nver Poghosyan was the previous governor of Gegharkunik region.
