Armenian President attends consecration of churches in Sevan and Artashat
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on Sunday attended the consecration of Surb Hreshtakapetats (Holy Archangels) Church in Sevan and Surb Hovhannes (St. John the Evangelist) Church in Artashat. The ceremonies were conducted by Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, the President’s press office reports.
Surb Hovhannes Church was built on the initiative and with the sponsorship of Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan. It was designed by Honored Architect of the Republic of Armenia Artak Ghulyan.
Surb Hreshtakapetats Church was built through the efforts of France-based benefactor of the Mother See Sargis Petoyan, and by the design of Artak Ghulyan.
