Bill banning games of chance for online prizes passed unanimously by Armenian parliament
The National Assembly of Armenia today, on December 17, continued its extraordinary session, during which MPs unanimously adopted a package of the government-submitted bills on amendments and additions to the law on prize-winning games and gambling houses and the law on advertising. 92 MPs voted in favor.
Under the amendments, advertising of games of chance for online prizes should be banned on television, radio, and other media.
The main speaker, Deputy Finance Minister of Armenia Vakhtang Mirumyan said on December 16 that under the bills, advertising of games of chance for prizes is allowed in the appropriate establishments for games, at customs points, and 4-star hotels. He said the purpose is to prevent minors from being involved in games of chance.
