Greek and Latvian parliamentarians visit Artsakh
Parliamentarians of Hellenic and Latvian Parliaments, Garifalia Kanelli and Sergejs Potapkins respectively, visit Nagorno Karabakh Republic. The parliamentarians are escorted by Vice-President of the National Assembly of Armenia, Eduard Sharmazanov, reports NA Public Relations Department.
The parliamentarians are the Heads of Greece-Armenia, Latvia-Armenia Friendship Groups respectively.
During their meeting on April 9, speaking about the situation on the Line of Contact between Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan in recent days, Eduard Sharmazanov noted that Azerbaijani leadership undertakes actions contradicting the international principles, implementing terrorist acts towards Nagorno Karabakh. He also said that Turkey’s authorities openly speak about supporting and defending Azerbaijan.
As reported earlier by NA Public Relations Department, Sergejs Potapkins noted that during escalation of the conflict he made a decision to visit Armenia and get acquainted with the situation. He stated that the international community should see the real picture, but not get familiarized with it from the press.
According to Potapkins, it is inadmissible, when the peaceful population suffers from the military aggression. With that respect the re-establishment of peace is a prior problem, the escalations of the conflict don’t promote the establishment and maintenance of peace.
