BBC’s article shows that Azerbaijan hides fact of placing military objects within civilian settlements
Another article published in the BBC once again shows that Azerbaijan is trying to deceive the international community.
The article, titled “Karabakh Conflict: Life on the frontline” makes it clear that military-political leadership of Azerbaijan consistently tries to hide the fact of placing military objects within civilian settlements for provocative aims.
Particularly, on April 28, 2016 NKR Defense Army published a statement about Azerbaijan violating norms of the international humanitarian law placing military objects in civilian settlements or nearby areas to be able to claim that the Armenian side targets civilians. NKR Defense Army also published photos marking the areas where Azerbaijani military objects were placed.
Baku denied this statement without providing any counterarguments. Yet, it becomes clear from the BBC article, that Baku has things to hide from the world concerning placement of military objects within civilian settlements.
“Despite the promises, our team didn’t manage to see and ensure where the alleged military objects are placed because of the refusal of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry. The latter explained that its refusal is connected with our safety,” the author writes.
In another article also published in the BBC, the author writes that Azerbaijan's government took the BBC team and other journalists on a carefully organised trip to several villages and two hospitals. Thus, not only the freedom of movement of the journalists was violated, but also the contact between citizens and the journalist was supervised.
“Although our trip around Azerbaijan's regions near the conflict zone was well planned by the government, a genuine and deep sense of animosity towards Armenia was palpable among local people,” writes the author.
