Armenia’s PM set to pay a visit to Iran – Iranian media
“Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan is set to pay a visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran in the near future,” Iran’s Ambassador to Armenia Seyyed Kazem Sajjadi noted in an interview with ISNA Iranian news agency, Panorama.am reports.
The ambassador added that currently preparations are underway for the visit of the Armenian Prime Minster. Seyyed Kazem Sajjadi informed that in the framework of Karen Karapetyan’s visit to Iran, the implementation process of the agreements reached during the Iran-Armenia intergovernmental conferences on economy will be discussed.
To note, during the visit paid to Armenia’s Syunik Province, PM Karen Karapetyan, underscoring the deepening of the economic ties with Iran, particularly noted: “Meanwhile, we must use the fact that Syunik Province neighbors with Iran. Currently we are conducting final talks on establishing a free economic zone in Meghri, which will attract the capital that has interest towards the Iranian market. I think that we will announce the launch of the free economic zone in coming future.”
“We have potential to register a phenomenal growth [in trade sector] with Iran increasing the number to one billion,” PM highlighted.
