President Trump carries on the tradition of his predecessors – Kiro Manoyan
The U.S. President Donald Trump carried on the tradition of his predecessors by declining to use the G-word in his statement observing the Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day, the head of ARF Hay Dat Political Affairs office Kiro Manoyan told a press conference on Tuesday.
In the speaker’s words, Trump’s message comes to show he, like his predecessors, is not keen on exerting much pressure on Turkey.
“It remains highly unpredictable what developments to expect in general, as far as it concerns President Trump. Thus, I recommend refrain from making conclusions about his future actions,” Manoyan said, referring to the ongoing controversy over various policy issues in the White House.
Manoyan next informed hat the Armenian community of the United States along with the Armenian National Congress of America exert every effort to work with the White House.
“The American-Armenians are actively working with various legislative circles. Obviously, the political agenda of the American-Armenians is not limited down to solely the issue of the Genocide recognition but comprises other topics, improving relations with Armenia, the Artsakh issue among them. Most of those issues depend on configuration of the U.S. relations with Russia, Turkey, Iran, or other states, since Armenia and the Armenians are simply viewed by the United States as a part of broader topics and relations,” Manoyan explained.
