ACTOR SAYS OUR SOCIETIES ARE NOT READY TO OPEN BORDER
“Indifference rules Armenia. Important events take place, Armenian-Turkish border will be opened, but people are passive and indifference. It happens because we don’t acknowledge quite well our past, we don’t have much knowledge about our history. And I mean the intellectuals, also,” actor, script writer Vardan Petrosyan said at news conference.
The actor says he started reading books on Armenian history since 2005, when writing his “Verelq” performance.
“Everything changed when I started reading history books. When you read and get acquainted with your history much changes in you. There are even intellectuals who don’t know much about the history because of not reading it,” he said.
V. Petrosyan says Armenia repeats its mistakes every time. He says it is possible bigger states have pressure on Armenia but still the decisions are made by Armenians. Petrosyan says we are not ready to open border, Armenian and Turkish societies are not ready to open it.
