I would like to say that Vedomosti paper cannot be just taken for truth,” director of “Mitk” analytical center Hrant Melik-Shahnazaryan told reporters today, commenting on the information spread by the abovementioned source that Russia provides C-300 defense systems for Azerbaijan.

According to him, the paper could have spread the information on investigation purpose to learn the reaction of the opposite side.

The expert also recalled that the information has neither been officially refuted nor confirmed. “This means the possibility the information is true could be big and Azerbaijan will obtain defense systems,” Melik-Shahnazaryan said.

“Providing the possible war resumes between Armenia and Azerbaijan, I can say for sure that the Armenian side will avoid air fight, giving preference to land struggle,” he said, however, highlighting that Armenia has strong anti-air defense.
