Turks threaten to bury Armenian climbers on Ararat
The Chairman of Commerce & industry Chamber of the Turkish province of Agri Mehmet Erat has expressed his concerns and anger over a group of U.S. and Canadian Armenians erecting Armenian and NKR flags on the summit of Mt. Ararat, Ermenihaber reported quoting Ankara news agency.
Erat said if the “fact is confirmed, I am sure the Agri citizens will be deeply grievous. We don’t want to believe the flags have been erected. Nevertheless, if they have done it, Agri citizens and me will take down the flags and erect the Turkish one on behalf of the Armenian side.”
He stressed that the fact had not been confirmed yet, saying “If Agri citizens knew about it, they would bury the climbers on Ararat.”
Several days ago a group of 11 Armenians climbed Mt. Ararat and erected the flags of Armenia and the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic on the summit of the mountain.
