Hurriyet. Davutoglu acts unexpectedly in New York
Turkey faces serious troubles in US Congress, Zeynep Gyurjanli, Washington reporter for “Hurriyet” daily, writes. Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has personally witnessed that tension during his Washington trip, when he visited with Congressmen and other senior officials. In fact, only one and single conclusion is observed – the change of Jewish lobby strategy.
“Traditionally, only Armenian and Greek lobbies act against Turkey in Congress. Currently Jewish lobby joined them, which will adopt negative role for Turkish-American relations,” Hurriyet writes.
Turkey acknowledges the difficulty of the current situation and takes necessary measures. The first step, according to the columnist, was made by Davutoglu, who is currently in New York to attend UN session. Turkish FM had a meeting with Greek lobby representatives, which is assessed as unexpected.
“The purpose is clear – to demonstrate to the world rapprochement tendencies between Turkey and Greek.”
