Minsk didn’t expand OSCE Office mandate: Mission is closed down
Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Office has been closed down in Minsk, Belarus and the activities of the mission have been ceased since December 31.
According to “Ria Novosti” agency, Belarusian authorities have not expanded the OSCE office mandate, thus the three-month term marks today the final suspension of the mission activities.
Official Belarus stated yet in December that because of lack of objective reasons the mission would be ceased. Andrei Savinykh, Belarusian MFA spokesman, told media then that the authorities had adopted acknowledged and objectively justified decision.
