UN Secretary General condemns Syrian attacks against demonstrators
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, who is currently on a visit to Moscow, condemned Syrian government authorities for the killing of the demonstrators and renewed calls for a "transparent" independent investigation.
According to Russian Ria-Novosti, the Secretary General said that President Bashar al-Assad's government must "respect international human rights, including the right to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly, as well as the freedom of the press."
He also repeated his demand for an "independent, transparent and effective investigation into the killings."
