Inter Parliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy passes Resolution on Armenian Genocide
On June 21-24 Paris hosted the 18th annual session of the Inter Parliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy, where a Resolution on the Genocide Committed in the Ottoman Empire against Christian Peoples: Armenians, Greeks and Assyrians has been adopted.
The resolution condemns Turkey, who till today critically refuses to accept the genocide committed under Ottoman Empire against Armenian, Greeks and Assyrians.
The resolution says that genocide is a heinous crime against humanity and ought to be condemned regardless of runtime and state political interests.
The document calls on the member states of the Inter Parliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy and the international community to condemn the Genocide committed against Armenians, Greeks and Assyrians and Turkey to acknowledge the responsibility for the sake of historic reality.
