Valery Khachatryan withdraws from NKR presidential election race
The Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Central Electoral Commission (NKR CEC) met today.
According to NKR CEC press service, NKR presidential candidate Valery Khachatryan had submitted an application to withdraw. His registration was recognized invalid by CEC.
NKR presidential elections will take place on July 19.
Four candidates ran for president: former Deputy Defense Minister, non-partisan Vitaly Balasanyan, pensioner, non-partisan Valery Khachatryan, NKR President, non-partisan Bako Sahakyan and Prorector of Armenian State Agrarian University's Stepanakert branch, non-partisan Arkady Soghomonyan.
274 polling stations have been established. One of them is located in the NKR Permanent Representation in Armenia.
The election campaign began on June 20. Official campaigning will last until July 17, 12:00 am.
