Russian ships to enter Iranian port in Caspian Sea in 2013
Ships of Russia’s Caspian Flotilla will enter the Iranian port in the Caspian Sea in 2013, said Caspian Flotilla Commander Rear Adm. Sergei Alekminski, according to Iranian news agency IRAS.
Several Russian ships entered the Iranian port in the Caspian Sea in 2007, Mr Alekminski noted.
The Russian naval official gave no further details, including the cause of the unofficial visit of Russian ships to the Iranian port.
We will remind that the five Caspian countries (Iran, Russia, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan) have disagreements over the legal status of the Caspian Sea.
