Jorge Orrico on Safarov case: We condemn all those actions which constitute crimes
Armenian National Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan presented visiting President of the Uruguayan Chamber of Representatives Jorge Orrico with the Safarov case at today’s meeting, Armenian parliament’s press service reported.
Mr Abrahamyan called the case “unprecedented,” an immoral step taken for political purposes, which could have a negative impact on both Karabakh settlement negotiations and easing of tensions and establishment of stability in the region.
Armenian NA Speaker presented the steps taken by the Armenian authorities and the international community’s criticism.
Jorge Orrico noted that Uruguay condemns that act, wherever it could take place.
“We have always fought for equality of human rights. We condemn all those actions which constitute crimes. Protection of human rights is of great importance on the international arena, and we are ready to assist resolution of all those conflicts and disputable issues which have peaceful settlement,” he said.
