Thousands of Azerbaijani children live in Turkey without documents
In Turkey, majority of children living without documents were born in Azerbaijani families from the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic, the head of the Women's Crisis Center of Azerbaijan Matanat Azizov told the Movqe.az.
"According to our data the number of Nakhichevan inhabitants who leave for Turkey to work there has dramatically increased over the past few years. They're mostly involved in construction there. The number of children born with Nakhichevan inhabitants in Turkey has increased too. As far as they mainly go there illegally, they cannot get documents for their children. According to recent reports, thousands of children live in Turkey without documents and now Turkish NGOs are working on compilation of lists of such children," said Matanat Azizov.
