Turkish media slam EU affairs minister Ali Haydar Konca for Armenian Genocide recognition
The newly appointed Turkish Minister for EU Affairs Ali Haydar Konca, who is a representative of the pro-Kurdish People’s Democratic Party (HDP), has expressed his position on the 1915 Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire.
Ermenihaber.am reports that the Turkish newspaper Sabah wrote that in response to reporters’ question about the Armenian Genocide, the Turkish minister ‘overstepped the limits’ and said that obviously, a massacre occurred and everyone accepts that.
Konca also said that his party will hold discussions on the issue and clarify its position.
