Monument of Andranik Margaryan erected in Irind
Today, on the 59th birth anniversary of the late Armenian PM Andranik Margaryan, a white marble monument of his has been erected in the village of Irind, Aragatsotn province, Armenia.
The opening of the monument is due today, with participation of the Armenian President. All the villagers have collected at the scene, here are ARP representatives, friends and relatives of the late PM, Panorama.am reporter says from Irind.
The sculptor of the monument is Levon Tokmajyan, who has personally known A. Margaryan. He told reporters his choice of white marble was not accidental, as white symbolizes purity.
Tokmajyan also said the place for the erection of the monument has not been chosen accidentally either. A. Margaryan liked this village and often came here and it was in this very place where he met with the villagers and became aware of their problems.
“PM was always concerned with the problems of the village and no request remained unresponded by him,” the head of the community Aleksan Kotanyan said.
