Iran insists Azerbaijan owns no share in Caspian Sea revealed gas field
“Azerbaijan doesn’t own any share in the newly discovered gas field in the Caspian Sea,” Iranian “MEHR” news agency quotes Iran’s National Oil Company as saying.
“The gas field found in the Caspian Sea is located under the waters belonging to Iran, thus Azerbaijan cannot have any share,” company’s statement said.
Iran has discovered a new gas field in the Caspian Sea, Iranian state run “IRNA” news agency reported. The discovered huge gas field contains an estimated 50 trillion cubic feet of gas. Iran’s President has stated that the new reserve will improve Iran’s role in the Caspian region and will change the region’s political and energy balance.
