President Sargsyan’s remarks on Tavush casualties: ‘Response is inevitable’
During a meeting with residents in the town of Stepanavan, Lori province, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan remarked on border incidents that have occurred in recent days.
“Azerbaijani weapon emplacements are firing against our lands in recent days. You may be already informed about the recent incidents – first, a kindergarten was targeted, than an ambulance car, tonight three servicemen were killed in Tavush region, and we have also recorded some injuries.
I don’t think that the potential response to the incident and the power of our defense forces can be suspected. Nobody is allowed to favor from our domestic political processes, nobody is allowed to think we are too busy with the elections. Whatever we have built, we have made it strong, and we are faithful to continue it,” Panorama.am reporter quotes President as saying.
A statement released by the Defense Ministry says three Armenian soldiers were killed in frontier Berd town, Armenia’s Tavush province. Fire against “VAZ 2107” vehicle killed the driver and two servicemen. Investigation got under way; a criminal case has been launched.
