Azerbaijani senior officials award anti-Iranian separatist groups
Azerbaijani senior officials award the representatives of anti-Iranian separatist groups, Iranian news site “arannews.ir” quotes Iranian expert on Caucasus issues Hosseyn Ahmadi as saying.
“Azerbaijani senior officials award the representatives of “World Congress of Azerbaijanis” for carrying our anti-Iranian mission, and serve as comfortable and safe place for Israel to carry out anti-Iranian operations,” said the expert.
Iranian news agency IRAS said that some groups supported by the ruling party of Azerbaijan held a rally in from of Iran’s Embassy in Azerbaijan and chanted offensive statements in address to Iranian Supreme Leader.
Protesting the action, Iran’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mohammad Bagher Bahrami quitted Azerbaijan on May 21 and returned to Iran to hold consultations over the incident. Next day Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Iran Javanshir Akhundov was summoned to the Foreign Ministry.
