Electric Networks of Armenia Company to be fined 75 mn drams by Public Services Regulatory Commission
At its sitting on July 8, Public Services Regulatory Commission of Armenia (PSRC) is planning to fine Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA) in the amount of 75 million drams, according to PSRC’s website.
Fines will be imposed by 14 different decisions of the Commission – 12 decisions envisage a fine of 5 million drams each, one decision – 5.4 million drams, and yet another decision – a fine of 10 million drams.
The stiff fines are due to the violation by ENA of order established by Commission. ENA management decided in the last few months to set a new order of connecting the consumption systems of new subscribers to power supply networks. Explaining that it is in financial difficulties, ENA offers consumers to pay also actual expenses of connecting them to power supply networks – in addition to the fixed payment for connection. The company said that over the next 5 years that sum will be deducted from payments made for the electricity used.
