Iran sends note of protest to Azerbaijan
Iran’s Foreign Ministry has summoned Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Tehran Javanshir Akhundov in protest to the recent forum of the anti-Iranian South Azerbaijan National Liberation Movement in the Republic of Azerbaijan, Tabnak.ir reported.
In a meeting with Javanshir Akhundov, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia and Oceania Seyyed Abbas Araqchi expressed Tehran’s strong objection over the Azerbaijani government’s failure to stop the event.
“Although the Islamic Republic of Iran has always tried to see relations between the two nations grow deeper...such actions can seriously damage the development of bilateral ties,” he was quoted as saying by Press TV.
