Tension increases on Armenia-Azerbaijan border
The situation remains tense on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, Artsrun Hovhannisyan, a spokesman for the Armenian Defense Ministry, told Panorama.am.
Azerbaijan intensively violated the ceasefire on the border near Tavush province overnight, he said.
“The enemy used 60-mm and 82-mm mortars and this is in fact a new level of tension. This will make the Armenian side take response actions,” Hovhannisyan said.
He added that contract-based Armenian soldier Arman Hovhannisyan, resident of Voskevan village, Tavush province, was killed by Azerbaijani bullet on January 17.
