40,000 first graders to go to school in Armenia on Sept. 1
Armenia will have 40,000 first graders this year, Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan said at a cabinet meeting on Thursday.
The final number of the first graders will be specified by late September, he added.
The Minister said that as scheduled, renovation works were completed in a number of schools and they are now ready for the new school year.
Ashotyan noted that the teachers’ salaries were raised by 9% in July.
The official also said that Sustainable Food Program will be launched in the schools of Vayots Dzor and Syunik provinces.
