Armenian Education Minister: Higher education must be of high quality
The role of universities’ has been underestimated over the last decade. Universities are centers of enlightenment, Armenian Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan said in his remarks on the second day of the Yerevan-hosted European Higher Education Area (EHEA) Ministerial Conference and Fourth Bologna Policy Forum.
The Minister stressed the need to increase practical training.
The ties between labor market and educational sector need to be strengthened and targeted assistance must be provided to the countries that need it most, he said.
“Higher education must be of high quality and it must be affordable,” said the Minister.
Highlighting the importance of government investment in the education sector, the Minister concluded, “to find an answer to the question: “What kind of education do we need?” we must answer the question: “What kind of society do we want to have?”
