ARMENIA AND OSCE COOPERATE IN COMBAT AGAINST CYBER-CRIMES
Presentation of the book “Main tasks of cyber-security in Armenia” took place in Yerevan today. Vladimir Priakhin, head of OSCE Yerevan office, said cyber-crimes cause considerable damage to world economy each year. Only banks suffer losses of $5-15 billion, he said. In the words of Priakhin, the Armenian government and OSCE have launched a joint project on combat against cyber-crimes, which is the first such project in the region.
Carol Khofstra, political responsible of OSCE Yerevan office, said Armenia lacks necessary institutions to combat cyber-crimes, like IT police and IT courts. He said OSCE has expressed readiness to provide financial and professional support to the republic in this regard.
