NEW APPROACHES TO DEVELOP IT NECESSARY, KOCHARYAN SAYS
Yerevan 12 April. /Novosti-Armenia/. Necessity for new approaches in IT development has become obvious, President Kocharyan said at a meeting with managers of IT companies operating in Armenia.
Kocharyan said these meetings are very important in terms of clarification of state’s role for securing of rapid development of the sector, which was acknowledged a priority. The Presided called for an open dialogue and said observations and proposals by IT companies are the best help for rapid progress.
The President said difficulties related to former monopoly in communication area are overcome now, which will spur reaching of new level in IT development.
IT managers said despite annual growth of the sector makes 20-30 per cent, however, in the economy structure, particularly, in exports, the indices are not high, and they do not reflect real potential of IT sector.
The issue of training of high-class professionals was also discussed at the meeting, as well as issues related to Armenian companies’ participation in international exhibitions and possibilities of organizing of exhibitions in Armenia.
The IT managers presented a number of specific proposals, in particular related to targeted credit resources to increase the number of IT companies, creation of a specified training centre preparing of professionals wit short-term trainings. The President said Armenia is interested in fast solution of all the issues voiced at the meeting.
