REFUGEES GET HOUSING PURCHASE CERTIFICATES
Some 3500 refugee families were registered at the Armenian migration service in 2003. In 2004, the government approved 2005-2007 deadlines for solving housing problems of these refugees. Such families are supposed to get Housing Purchase Certificates (HPC). Ara Harutunyan, department head on refugees on the migration services the program excludes only Kotaik region and Yerevan. Next year, Yerevan is going to be included in the program as well. The number of refugee families in the Armenian capital is 1500. However, some families could not purchase houses on their HPCs. “We have made suggestions to the government on such families and their HPCs will be reconsidered.”
