Four victims of trafficking have been returned to Armenia
Head of administration of ra police main board, police colonel nazaret mnatcakanyan, has presented the statistics of struggle against trafficking during the last 9 months. During the stated period, 27 cases of crime were exposed. Three criminal proceedings (instead of 8 last year) have been instituted for enlisting, transporting, hiding or “purchasing” people for exploitation.
Four criminal proceedings (instead of one last year) have been instituted for drawing people into different kinds of sexual exploitation, slavery or forced labour.
Also two criminal proceedings have been instituted for drawing some other person into prostitution for sordid motives. Eighteen criminal proceedings have been instituted for contributing to prostitution (instead of 21 last year).
According to nazaret mnatsakanyan, 10 of 20 instituted proceedings concern the exiting prostitution.
The police colonel ensured that everything is being done for exposure of the guilty. So far seven of them have been exposed due to cooporation with interpol, and four victims of trafficking have been returned to armenia due to cooporation with the ministry of foreign affairs.
