The exploitation of Teghut mining in Lori region will be followed by national ecological NGO-s. Aram Harutunyan, the minister of nature protection said in the Parliament session, and the main theme of the session was the influence of the Teghut mining on the environment.

He mentioned that “Armenian Copper program” company got the license to exploit the mining, and they must do everything to minimize the dangerous factors. Nerses Yeritsyan, the minister of trade and economic development said that the exploitation of the mining will be carried out with new technologies. According to him this project is profitable and 5-6 billion dollars will be accessed in the state budget.

According to Karine Danielyan, the head of “For stable development” NGO, the losses of the Teghut mining will be much higher than described in the project. The expert offered to stop the process of exploitation until the usage of the new technologies can decrease the losses.
