ARONYAN CONTINUES HIS PROCESSION
Armenian chess players participate with success in Chess World Cup competition in Khanti – Mansijsk. Armenian Grand Master Levon Aronyan gained the victory in second stage first part by 1:0 scores, his competitor was Yan Goustakhsoni presenting Germany. And the competition between Vladimir Hakobyan and Iranian Ehsam Gajem Maghami ended in a draw.
Note that Armenian Grand Master Vladimir Hakobyan gained a victory in tiebreak of the first stage and thus got the right to act in the second stage.
Note that World Chess Cup competition takes place in knockout system: all 128 participants will play in the first stage, and after each part half of the participants will continue the game, and the others will wait for the final game. The format is confirmed by FIDE.
