DÉJÀ VU. VAZGEN MANUKYAN PLANS NEW ELECTIONS AFTER HE IS ELECTED
“The powers of the new president are not small. He can assist to build a government which is more fair, open to the public, and works more effectively,” said Vazgen Manukyan, the head of NDU party.
According to him, if he acts together with people, and is really democratic, then at any time he can stop the Parliament and Government activities in the case they do not act for public.
“A new constitution must be created, as both the first one and the second one are falsified, and are not elected by the public,” said Manukyan, and continued that he thinks that parliamentary system is the best one. He mentioned that the courts must be independent from the Government, in order not to be corrupted; besides local governing bodies must be given more independence. “The chiefs of the regions must be elected by the public not assigned,” said Manukyan.
