29 THOUSANDS PEOPLE VISITED “ARMENIA SACRA”
More than 28.000 people visited the exhibition of “Armenia Sacra; Return Home”. The exhibition opened in September 11 and closed three days ago. The information is produced by Karen Khachatryan, the deputy director of Armenian History Museum.
As it turned out mainly native people visited the exhibition, but the number of visitors from Diaspora and foreign tourists was also high. Before the exhibition was transmitted to Louvre, it was open to the visitors in the Museum of History, in Matenadaran, and in Echmiadzin. But the fact that it was presented in Louvre was significant for Armenians; it was very inspiring.
“The fact that the exhibition took place in Louvre is very attractive, as there are many people who even think that those models of art are brought from Louvre. So Louvre is a special standard for evaluating things,” said Anelka Grigoryan, the director of the History Museum.
In the exhibition of “Armenia Sacra” more than 200 masterpieces of Armenian heritage coming from the ages were presented.
Note: Recently the delegation of Russian famous artists arrived in Armenia. The Prime Minister Serjh Sargsyan offered to the director of “Ermitage” to organize the continuation of “Armenia Sacra” in St. Petersburg. The proposal was gratefully accepted. Hope that Russian people will get acquainted with Armenian sacred models too.
