ARMENIAN GRAND MASTERS PARTICIPATE IN SUPERCOMPETITION “KORUS CHESS 2008”
Armenian Grand Masters Levon Aronyan, Gabriel Sargsyan, and Sergey Movsisyan take part in “Korus Chess 2008” super competition. The competition will take place in Vake en Zee, Netherlands January 11-27.
Levon Aranonyan plays in the group “A”, and his competitors are Anand, the winner of FIDE 2007, Ivanchuk, World Winner Kramnik, Lekon, Mamedyarov, Gelfand, and Adams. Gabriel Sargsyan and Sergey Movsisyan play in the group “B”. The competition takes place in three parts, and in each part 14 Grand Masters compete.
Remind that Aronyan won champion title in the same competition this year. He was the only chess player who had no loses during the competition. Note that Indian chess player Vishvanatan Anand became a winner for 5 times, Topalov – 2 times, and Aronyan and Kramnik – once.
“Korus Chess” competition took place from 1938, before it was called “Hogoventur”.
