Today the only Blood bank opened in the center of hematology and blood transfusion named after Professor R. According to him such modern centers and laboratories equipped with necessary technologies is a must for our country. Daghbashyan said that approximately 15 thousands donors are registered and 7% of them are volunteers. They are mainly young people.

“The result is not poor, but it is not enough, as we need 2% of the population to become a donor,” he said. People from regions also give their blood, and they are compensated with food and transport fees.
In order to become a donor one must pass medical examination. 450ml. blood is taken from the donor without causing any health problems and this process can be repeated once or twice a year.
