FAVORITES STRENGTHEN POSITIONS
Hot games started in Armenian chess competition for men. The favorites of the competition Smbat Lputyan and Karen Asryan strengthened their positions after the tenth circle of the competition. They have each 6 scores o their actives and yield Tigran Petrosyan by 0.5 scores.
Ashot Anastasyan-Artashes Minasyan game did not take part because of Anastasyan’s illness. Petrosyan won Andriasyan in the 10th circle and Lputyan and Asryan won accordingly Pashikyan and Babudjyan. Samvel Ter-Sahakyan yielded his positions; he is in the 6th horizontal. Ter-Sahakyan has 5.5 scores on his actives. Ara and Artashes Minasyans have the same amount of scores.
Note that Karen Asryan is the present winner. The competition started in January 7 and lasts till January 21.
