PRIME MINISTER HAS RIGHT TO
Today Gevorg Danielyan, the minister of justice received the representatives of OSCE/ODIHR Election Observation Mission legal consulter Karen Gayner and political expert Lolita Tsigane.
According to the Ministry of justice, the observers were interested in some points and particularly application of electoral code of RA. Particularly they asked the minister to clear up article 78 of the electoral code, according to which the president candidate after being registered stops carrying out his labor duties if he is a state official or works in state administration bodies.
The observers agreed with the minister’s explanation that the article has more dispositive mood then imperative and it is Prime Minister’s right to stop it or not.
