KOMSTAR-OTS TO INVEST WiMAX TECHNOLOGY IN ARMENIA
Komstar United Telesystem (Komstar-OTS) has launched WiMAX technology building in Armenia. Comnews web portal informs that the network will be commercially commissioned in the second half of 2008. The network is built based on the Armenian Cornet operator network. Cornet is part of Collnet group that also belongs to Komstar-OTS. Cornet has the right of utilizing 3.6-3.8 Gherz frequency throughout Armenia.
Komstar-OTS will provide its customers with speed internet, multimedia content transmission, VoIP, data exchange, VPN and others. The services are both for physical entities and corporative customers.
According to a tender announced by Komstar-OTS, the supply of equipment will be implemented by Airspan Networks American Company.
