NEW NUCLEAR POWER PLANT IN MEDZAMOR
“Yet in 2005 the policy on energetic development was discussed and accepted by the government where 4 major conceptions are included which should be followed to provide, so called, wise energetic security and independent level,” said Areg Galstyan, the deputy minister of the energetic.
According to the deputy minister one of the 4 principles is the development of the nuclear power, and an appropriate project was presented to the government in 2007. “We hope that since September or October we will have the document of building new power units, and getting technical economic equipments, and it will be presented to the government also,” he said.
As for the old nuclear power plant, A. Galstyan said that it will be closed and before 2016 a new one will be built.
