On 28-30 March special session was held in NKR to extend the amount of events held on the developemt of Kashatagh, Berdzor. The information is provided by the public relations department of the NKR president’s administration.

“The session devoted to the Kashatagh development will contribute to the effective salvation of the problem in the region, and to the creation of new projects. Kashatagh region has a strategic notion for all Armenians,” said Bako Sahakyan the president of the NKR in the opening ceremony of the session.

“It is not by chance that our opponent during 70 years made this current territory a wedge between Armenia and Artsakh. The role of the region has been changed since 1992 May, and the path has become “road of life” for the people living in Artsakh. Being conscious of the political and economic importance of the region serious steps should be taken to provide it with development and competitive economy,” said the president.

According to the president of the NKR in the future the amount of investments for the development of the region will be increased. The budget of Kashatagh in 2008 is 3.7 billion drams which is by 40% high than it was in the last years.
The president also said that they are intended to make some reforms to improve the social conditions of the people.
