SPIVAKOV, DJIGARKHANYAN AND BITOV RECEIVED AWARDS
“Karot” award giving ceremony took place in Moscow, where the representatives of culture were awarded. The first holders of the awards became Charles Aznavour, Armen Djigarkhanyan, Andrey Bitov, and Vladimir Spivakov.
The ceremony was officially opened by the minister of culture of the RF Alexander Avdeev. “This is my first speech as the minister and I am happy it is here, in such wonderful event,” he said. The minister quoted the writer Bitov in his speech saying that “Armenian history does not have beginning as it is endless.”
Note that world wide famous Charles Aznavour did not manage to be present at the ceremony. The award will be given to him in Paris in the Embassy of Russia with some delay.
