CONFERENCE DEVOTED TO SAROYAN’S 100 ANNIVERSARY
“William Saroyan’s works and modern world” scientific conference started in Yerevan State University devoted to 100 anniversary of the writer.
“Saroyan’s family has been one of those families who managed to escape from Turkish violations in the beginning of 20th century and to find a place to live in Frezno, USA. Saroyan has been an American writer but he has never felt the lack to be an Armenian,” said Karo Karapetyan, the dean of Romance Germanic faculty, Karo Karapetyan.
The rector of the University Aram Simonyan has also made a speech. Note that the event is organized by the Foreign Literature department of Romance Germanic faculty.
