RICE EXPENSIVE THAN ITS COST PRICE
The State Committee for Economic Competition started a monitoring on rice market as the prices of rice are getting higher and higher. According to the study two major companies are leading the rice market – “Kari Tov” (32%) and “Mokonat” (27.6%), said Anna Hovhannisyan, of the SCEC in a press conference today.
The Committee was intended to start an administrative claim against the companies but it was revealed that were liquidating.
According to the survey of the Committee the price of rice is 1.7-2.5 times higher in Armenia. The Chairman of the SCEC is intended to discuss the case when the mega companies get their revenues and liquidate, as it did “Satine” company last year.
