FRANKFURT BOOK FAIR 2008
On October 15-19 Frankfurt Book Fair 2008 has been conducted and Armenia was presented in the exhibition-fair by the Ministry of Culture, “Publishers’ Association of Armenia”, “Antares”, “Zangak-97”, “Edit Print” publications and “Art Bridge” book shop, told Edward Militonyan of the Ministry of Culture and Vahan Khachatryan the president of “Publishers’ Association of Armenia”.
400 issues Armenian books were presented in the fair. E. Militonyan mentioned that they noticed Armenian book was much interested in the fair. Besides, Militonyan said that the quality of Armenian book was higher than the average.
Note that the current year is announced as “Year of Turkish Book”. To the question when “Year of Armenian Book” will be announced and organized, Militonyan said that it was planned to make 2012 year of Armenian book, but up to 1016 the years are reserved. He added that millions of dollars are needed to organize such event.
