A TOURNAMENT OF CHESS GRAND PRIX TO BE HELD IN YEREVAN
The fifth round of FIDE Grand Prix will be held in August, in Yerevan. The President of FIDE announced that during his meeting with the President of Armenia an agreement was made to organize and hold Grand Prix fifth round in Yerevan. It is known that chess players from Azerbaijan will also take part in that round.
Note that according to preliminary agreements that round should be conducted in Elista, but after Qatar rejected the proposal, it was fixed to organize fifth round in Yerevan. They say that a dispute among Olympic Committee of Qatar, Ministry of Sport and the sponsors, in the aftermath of which Grand Prix has been postponed.
